Description of the New Method

4. Replace each small curve and its interior with a scaled-down copy of the current knot interior. The resulting structure, exclusive of the exterior strands, is the new "current knot interior".
5. Repeat Step 4 as many times as desired. After all repetitions, the exterior strands and the strands within the smallest generation of curves may be modified as desired.
